 interview and interrogation

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office is hosting the Missouri Sheriffs’ Association Training Academy (MSATA) this week with a 2-day Interview and Interrogation class. This training is an advanced criminal justice course conducted by instructor Darren Dake for the MSATA.

A total of 29 law enforcement officers signed up to attend the class. The officers in attendance represent the following agencies: Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Carrollton Police Department, Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Kirksville Police Department, Linn County Sheriff’s Office, Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, and Truman State University DPS.

We are pleased with the turnout and the chiefs and sheriffs were pleased to see this training offered locally.

Be careful when backing on ICE

 hedge post and truck

This is what happened when the sheriff slowly backed out a sloped drive with packed ice and the door came in contact with a hedge hitching post.  The hedge post survived just fine.

Secret Santa Program

The Livingston County Sheriff's Office held our 5th annual Secret Santa program in December 2015.  Here is a great article about a portion of that program with Fox 4 News in Kansas City and a local link for a more complete story from the Chillicothe Constitution Tribune.
