Protect Your Money from Debit Card Fraud

We want to share information on an issue that has hit many this holiday season and hope it can help save you from headache and financial loss.

A problem many are unaware of is the dangers of using your debit card online or with businesses or places you are unfamiliar with. Criminals can take your debit card number and use it online and often purchase an item to be delivered elsewhere or in a way they can quickly get cash from it. The difference is when they use your debit card number and are successful, your bank is not responsible for the theft. Whereas if you use your credit card for the same purchase and your credit card number is used in the same manner, the credit card company is responsible for your unapproved purchase. Criminals can literally wipe out your bank account and you are left with the problems.

Best solution is to use a credit card for online purchases or when you travel  to protect fraud on your debit card. Creepers are everywhere and work hard to steal money from innocent people.

From everyone at the LCSO We Wish You a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Please be safe and know we will be out in force looking for those who are up to doing bad things.

Be safe and thank you for reading.
