Two Day Jury Trial Ends with several Guilty Verdicts

October 22 and 23 a jury trial took place in Livingston County Circuit Court.  This case was a change of venue from Daviess County on State of Missouri -v- Miguel A. Torres, 42, being felony allegations Mr. Torres was suspected of committing during his previous incarceration at the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail (DDRJ).

After deliberating the jury found Mr. Torres guilty of the 3 counts of Possession of a Weapon in a Jail Facility and 1 count of Damage to Jail/Jail Property.  Mr. Torres was acquitted on another count.

The case was heard by Circuit Judge Ryan Horsman, tried by Daviess County Prosecuting Attorney Annie Gibson and Mr. Torres had two attorneys representing him from the Public Defender's Office. The Livingston County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) conducted bailiff duty and had additional security present throughout the trial.

Mr. Torres is being held at the DDRJ pending sentencing assessment report and next Court appearance.
