Recently we have received information about a local resident having received a gift card with $50 value to a popular restaurant, which is not located in Chillicothe. The citizen used $26 of the gift card and had a receipt showing the balance of $24 dollars. On the next visit the citizen went to use the gift card and learned that someone at the restaurant had previously ran it through again giving themselves an additional $10 tip.

Another person we have heard from bought a gift card with a $100 value on an internet auction site and the card came with a receipt showing it had $100 value. When that citizen went to use the card there was no money left on the card.

Be cautious how and where you do business. Not every employee is honest. Save your receipts.
