A jury trial began at 8:30 a.m. today in Livingston County Circuit Court where an adult male was alleged to have committed Child Molestation involving a juvenile. The Court called approximately 80 prospective jurors with 13 people being selected to hear the case (12 jurors and 1 alternate juror).

This case was investigated by the Chillicothe Police Department with assistance from the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Child Advocacy Center in Trenton. The case was potentially scheduled to last two days but ended about 6:40 p.m. tonight with a Not Guilty verdict.

Circuit Judge Thomas N. Chapman heard the case which was prosecuted by Adam Warren against 2 Public Defenders being Josh Smith and Ryan Williams. All the officials, lawyers, jurors, prospective jurors, investigating officers and sheriff/bailiff staff did an excellent job with a long difficult day.
