Incident Reports:

October 24 the LCSO began an investigation regarding theft of controlled substance-prescription medication. A suspect has been identified and the investigation is continuing.

October 24 the LCSO investigated an incident where a mower was left on private property and the land owner wanted the item towed and removed from the property. The mower has not been reported stolen and investigation remains open.

October 24 the LCSO has completed additional investigation of Failing to Register as a Sex Offender. The suspect had been arrested by the LCSO on October 22 for alleged felony registration violation.

October 25 Deputy Sheriff/School Resource Officer Mike Lewis filed a report with this office regarding a student at Chillicothe High School who had their school issued Chromebook lost or stolen on or about October 12.

October 27 the LCSO responded to a farm equipment accident on the roadway in southern Livingston County and assisted the MSHP in what turned into a fatality accident. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the family and loved ones.

October 28 the LCSO responded to a Chula address to assist with an unresponsive person. Preliminary investigation suggests that person passed away from natural causes. Livingston County Coroner’s Office also responded as did emergency medical responders. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the family and loved ones as well.

October 28 the LCSO began an investigation into the theft of prescription medication being a controlled substance from a home. A suspect has been identified and the LCSO is seeking that person for interview.

October 28 a fraud was reported where a local resident has learned their debit card has been used at multiple location in Illinois for a total of $1,057.41. The victim is concerned this was most likely from purchasing fuel at the pump of an area gas station in September. Investigation continues.

October 29 the LCSO assisted the Missouri Fire Marshall, Chillicothe Dept. of Emergency Services, CP Rail, and others on investigation of a fire at the CP Bridge crossing the Grand River south of Chillicothe. The investigation to determine the actual cause of the blaze is still continuing by multiple agencies.

 

Arrests:

October 30 Christopher R. Brannam, 36, Mooresville was arrested at the LCSO when he surrendered on a Livingston County warrant for alleged class E felony Harassment-1st degree. Mr. Brannam posted bond and was released pending court appearance.

October 31 the LCSO arrested Abby L. Farris, 32, Trenton, for alleged Theft of Controlled Substance, Possession of Controlled Substance, and Possession of Methamphetamine Paraphernalia. Ms. Farris was transferred to the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail on a 24 hour hold pending arrest warrant.

 

Citations:

October 29 three speeding citations were issued being for 15, 17, and 19 over the speed limits.

October 30 a CHS student was issued a speeding citation for 20 over the speed limit on Liv 228 shortly after school.

October 31 a Chillicothe driver was cited for speeding at 80 in a 60.

 

Additional Information:

This week the LCSO has spent significant time in assisting other agencies with investigations in addition to our own duties.

For Halloween several LCSO staff were on patrol and periodic compliance checks of registered sex offenders for the Halloween law took place.

Currently the LCSO has 41 people in custody at the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail.
