January 29 a deputy responded to a call in the area of LIV 251 and LIV 214 where a vehicle was left abandoned and reportedly a problem for traffic. The deputy found no one around, the vehicle registered out of Fayette MO, and with no other information available requested the vehicle be towed due to how it was left in the roadway. Later a female claiming to own the vehicle called and was out of line and cussing the deputy for doing his job.
February 01 about 2:28 p.m. LCSO investigated a one vehicle accident on Highway C south of U.S. 36. The driver was identified as Samuel J. Lawson, 20, Chillicothe and reported to have been speeding and ran off the roadway striking sign owned by MoDOT and damaged fencing belonging to a private land owner. Mr. Lawson was cited for alleged Careless and Imprudent Driving.
February 02 investigation of possible stolen cow investigated in northwest part of Livingston County. A cow had been butchered in a remote area and the ear tags were cut off. Investigation continues.
February 03 Deputy Sheriff/School Resource Officer Mike Lewis filed a report with this office regarding a teacher being physically assaulted by a student at a local public school. School officials, parents and others are aware and involved in the situation. Information being shared with the court.
February 06 incident report filed with this off on two juveniles and problems taking place, some of which are being disruptive, combative and other issues. Juvenile Office and parents are involved.

February 01 Ohio authorities arrested Gregory Allen Johnson, 43, Tennessee on a Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Probation Violation on class E felony DWI-Persistent Offenders. Mr. Johnson has been a fugitive since August 21, 2019. Extradition will take place at first opportunity once court documents are authorized.
February 03 LCSO arrested David Mathew Jeffers, 44, Braymer on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged class A misdemeanor Non-Support. Mr. Jeffers surrendered, posted bond and was given a new court date to appear.
February 05 authorities in Kansas City arrested Chaunci Lovett Sharpe, 47, Kansas City, on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged class D felony of Forgery. Ms. Sharpe has been a fugitive since January 02, 2020. This case stems from an original investigation by the LCSO. Ms. Sharpe will be extradited at first opportunity.
January 29 LCSO served Jackson County arrest warrant for alleged Possession of Controlled Substance on Jesse Dalton Estes, 26, Chillicothe after surrendering to the LCSO. Mr. Estes posted the approved 10% cash bond and was released with a court date.
January 31 LCSO arrested Janel M. Gramenz, 43, Utica on a Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged class D felony Possession of Controlled Substance. Ms. Gramenz was transferred to the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail in lieu of bond.
February 02 a deputy stopped a vehicle for equipment violation at a location in Chillicothe. The stop resulted in the arrest of Kelsey Ryan Frisbie, 24, Trenton for alleged Driving While Intoxicated-Drugs and Driving While Revoked/Suspended-2nd or 3rd offense. Ms. Frisbie was also arrested on a Dekalb County arrest warrant for alleged non-moving traffic violation. Ms. Frisbie was processed, posted the $100 bond on the warrant and released pending Court appearance.
February 02 about 3:37 p.m. on U.S. 36 near Wheeling a deputy stopped a vehicle for 85 in a 65 and that stop resulted in the arrest of Ariana Marie Kelsey, 30, St. Joseph for the alleged excessive speeding, driving while suspended/revoked-2nd offense and failure to register motor vehicle annually with Dept. of Revenue. Ms. Kelsey was processed and released on summons she was also given warning for no auto insurance.
February 03 a deputy was passed on U.S. 36 by an Illinois driver checked at 97 in a 65. This resulted in the arrest of Susan M. McMahon, 57, Chicago, Illinois for alleged excessive speed and Driving While Suspended-1st offense. Ms. McMahon posted bond at the LCSO and released on summons to appear in Court March 11.
February 04 LCSO arrested Ryan Earl Vencill, 30, Trenton at the order of Circuit Judge as Mr. Vencill was sentenced to the Missouri Department of Corrections. Vencill was transferred to custody of DDRJ.
February 04 LCSO arrested Marie Alean Osborn, 57, Chillicothe at the direction of the Circuit Judge as she was remanded to our custody on a DWI case. Ms. Osborn was transferred to the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.
Januayr 30 Zaki and Deputy Leadbetter were summoned to assist the Caldwell County Sheriff's Office with an investigation. Zaki indicated presence of drug odor(s). Evidence was seized and additional information may be obtained from Caldwell County Sheriff's Office.
February 03 Zaki was summoned to assist the Chillicothe Police on a traffic stop. Zaki indicated odor of drug(s) present in the vehicle. CPD officers reported finding methamphetamine and methamphetamine drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. See CPD for additional details.
February 04 Zaki was summoned to assist the Missouri State Highway Patrol on a vehicle stop in Livingston County. Zaki did not indicate the odor of drug(s) being present.
February 01 LCSO issued a speeding citation to an Illinois driver for 86 in a 65 on U.S. 36 near Utica.

February 02 LCSO issued a speeding citation to a Sedalia driver for 87 in a 65 on U.S. 36 at LIV 269.
February 04 LCSO issued a speeding citation 80- in 65 and citation for no auto insurance to an Ohio driver on U.S. 36 at Mooresville Junction.
February 06 a Chillicothe driver was cited for 73 in a 60 on U.S. 65 and LIV 218.
February 06 a Brookfield driver was cited for 83 in a 65 on U.S. 36 at Utica Junction.
February 06 a Chillicothe driver was cited for Failing to Register Motor Vehicle with Director of Revenue. The vehicle driver had purchased the vehicle several months ago and was using the previous owner's license plates.
February 04 the LCSO had 24 detainees appear in Livingston County Circuit Court before Judge Ryan Horsman. The court ordered 16 of these detainees be sent to the Missouri Department of Corrections.
LCSO staff has been busy with various on-going criminal and fugitive investigations in our area.
LCSO currently has 38 people in custody, 10 of which are female detainees.
