A recent domestic assault investigation has taken a turn as the Detective handling the case has received a confession from the person reporting to initially be the victim. That person has allegedly confessed to making a false report to our office. We have notified the prosecuting attorneys office and asked that charges be dismissed on the current defendant and considered for making a false report.

A recent assault was investigated in the Wheeling area. The investigation shows a 3rd party called 911 and we learned a mother was allegedly assaulted by her daughter. The suspect had left the area prior to our arrival. The reported victim was not seeking prosecution on her daughter. We have since interviewed the reported suspect and the information has been submitted to the prosecuting attorney for review and direction.
We have actively been continuing an assault investigation from earlier this month near Dawn. We have interviewed several people and have made repeated attempts to speak with a person of interest.
