Updates on our Investigations/Arrests/Other Activities






September 22 we investigated a report of domestic disturbance.  No arrests were made due to lack of probable cause.  Parties separated and were aware of or given information regarding protection order(s) and/or referred to civil court.


September 23 we began an investigation of a reported assault.  The victim advised a female attempted to get his girlfriend to try methamphetamine and he intervened and he was later physically assaulted by that girl’s boyfriend.  A report is being submitted to the prosecuting attorney for consideration of charges.


September 24 we began an investigation of theft from a home in Wheeling after a person asked to come in and use the restroom.  A suspect has been identified and we are submitting a report to the prosecuting attorney for consideration of charges.


September 25 we began an investigation of property damage at a location on Liv 520 where another driver was reported to be upset and spun his tires in the gravel throwing rocks onto the parked semi and damaged the paint.  A report is being submitted to the prosecuting attorney for consideration of charges.


Deputies are involved in an in-depth criminal investigation which ties back to Jackson County and Camden County regarding possible burglaries, vehicle theft(s), stolen property, forged documents, and potentially other criminal violations.  Staff is currently working with several local businesses and authorities in the other jurisdictions.  Arrest warrant(s) are expected in the near future.


Detective Menconi is wrapping up the compete investigation on the recent alleged child abduction arrest previously reported.  Various law enforcement agencies in Missouri and other states have assisted in collecting/providing information.


We obtained an arrest warrant for 2 suspects accused of 2nd Degree Burglary at a residence near Mooresville.  This stemmed from a joint investigation with other area sheriffs and NITRO Task Force on area burglaries and gun thefts.   Moses Miranda has already been charged in Livingston and other counties for his role of the alleged crimes.  The two additional suspects now charged in Livingston County are:

  1. Carson Allen Symmonds, 32, Chillicothe
  2. Stephanie L. Rodriquez, 30, Chillicothe.

Bond was set at $15,000 cash on both and both remain incarcerated in the Grundy County Jail pending their initial Court appearance here.


Arrest Warrants Served:


September 30 authorities in Colorado arrested a Most Wanted fugitive being Jeremiah W. Johnson, 33, was arrested on a Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged class D felony Non-Support violation.  Bond was set at $6,750 cash.  We are making arraignments for extradition at the earliest opportunity. 


September 25 we arrested Shane Owen Glasgow, 26, Chillicothe on a Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Possession of Marijuana.  Bond was set at $500.


On September 25 we served a Livingston County arrest warrant on Heidi Jo Gifford, 38, Trenton after she surrendered to the LCSO on an alleged failure to appear warrant for a traffic ticket.  Ms. Gifford posted bond and was released.


September 16 we served a Livingston County arrest warrant on Jose Albert Lopez Jr., 40, KCMO for alleged class C felony DWI-Aggravated Offender.  Bond was set at $10,000 cash.


September 16 we served a Livingston County arrest warrant on Anthony Michael Walker, 32, Chillicothe for alleged Violation of Bond Conditions on original felony charge of Theft/Stealing.  Bond was set at $10,000 cash.


On September 09, we served a Livingston County arrest warrant on James E. Biswell, 33, Chillicothe for alleged Probation Violation on 2 class A misdemeanor counts of Non-Support.  Bond was set at $6,000 cash.



Other Information:


This week the LCSO mailed out 480 notices to Livingston County citizens to return information to Livingston County Circuit Clerk Brenda Wright for prospective jurors for the next term.


On October 02 Reserve Deputy Brad Aldrich tendered his resignation from our office.  Mr. Aldrich was a new employee and helped part time in civil process service and Court Bailiff duties.   Mr. Aldrich has accepted full time employment with an adjoining county.  We wish him the best.


October 02 Sheriff Cox attended a Case Review meeting with the North Central Missouri Children’s Advocacy Center, Prosecuting Attorney Adam Warren, members of the Children’s Division, Livingston County Health Center, Juvenile Office, and School Resource Officer/Deputy Sheriff Mike Lewis pertaining to all cases in Livingston County.


The picture on the heading of this email was taken by one of our employees this week while on patrol in Livingston County.  A large group of pelicans were taking a feeding and resting break during their southward migration.
