Investigations and Arrests:
As a result of assisting the Grundy County Sheriff and Missouri State Highway Patrol in a theft investigation, the 3 agencies served a Livingston County Search Warrant at a location in Utica yesterday. The search resulted in the seizure of a stolen U-Haul Van. Additional items sought were not found but evidence of one or more of the other stolen item(s) was allegedly in the stolen vehicle. Investigations are continuing.
October 17 we received a report of lost or stolen dogs from a location near Farmersville. Victim reported 2 female English Bulldog puppies being 8 weeks old disappeared from their property. October 17 we investigated a report of a dog being shot in Wheeling. The animal owner was concerned a specific neighbor shot his or her dog. Deputy requested the owner(s) take the dog to the vet as there was an apparent injury to the dog but the cause of the injury was not obvious to the deputy. The reported person of interest has been questioned about the incident and reports having alibi and was not home at the time the reported incident took place. Investigation will continue depending on the report from the DVM.

October 16 we arrested Justin Ray Provolt, 27, Chillicothe in the 900 block of Webster Street on a Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged class C felony Stealing. Bond was set at $10,000 cash. As a result of that arrest Mr. Provolt was allegedly found to be in possession of a controlled substance to which we are seeking formal charges filed on that incident. Mr. Provolt was turned over to the Daviess Dekalb County Jail in lieu of bond.
October 16 we began an investigation of identity theft for a Chula resident. The victim learned his/her identity had been stolen and used by unknown person(s) to borrow $620 dollars. The investigation continues.
October 13 we investigated a report of trespassing at a farm field north east of Chillicothe. An unknown vehicle entered the property and may have been involved with a separate but nearby damage to private property.
October 13 we investigated a report of property damage to a 1958 Ford truck parked on private property north east of Chillicothe. The vehicles windshield was struck several times with unknown object and additional damage was done to the vehicle. Investigation continues.
October 10 Deputy Sheriff/School Resource Officer Mike Lewis filed a report with our office regarding an investigation regarding an incident on October 09 at a Chillicothe High School function. The juvenile female victim was allegedly approached by a juvenile male that made very inappropriate comments and then threatened to stab her with a pocket knife. The parents, school officials, and juvenile office are aware of the matter and administrative steps have been taken. Our investigation is complete and the information turned over to the juvenile authorities for consideration of charge(s).

October 16 we served a Livingston County arrest warrant on William Victor Martins, 48, Chillicothe, for alleged Bond Supervision Violation on original charge of Controlled Substance violation. Bond was set at $25,000 cash. Mr. Martins was transferred to the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail.
MOST WANTED ARRESTS:
October 16 we served a Livingston County arrest warrant on Mercedes Marie Baker, 17, Kansas City for alleged class C felony Theft/Stealing with value being between $500 and $25,000. Bond was set at $10,000 Cash. Ms. Baker was transferred to the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail. Ms. Baker surrendered herself to the LCSO after learning of the warrant on our website.
October 18 authorities in Clay County Missouri served a Livingston County arrest warrant on Ron Jones, 54, for alleged 2 counts of forgery. Bond was set at $7,500 cash. Mr. Jones has been transported to the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail.
October 17 authorities in Jacksonville Florida arrested Craig Eugene Wilson, 61, on a Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged class C felony Stealing. Bond was set at $10,000 and Mr. Wilson will be returned at first opportunity after he waives extradition or we have additional Court orders.
We have extradited Dan James Madison from Seattle Washington on a Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged probation violation on conviction of felony Domestic Assault in 2nd Degree. Mr. Madison is being held in the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail in lieu of bond.
Chief Deputy Michael Claypole, Deputy Chris Mueller, and Deputy Nicholas Leadbetter attended 5 days training at the Missouri Sheriffs Training Academy in Jefferson City.
Recently LCSO staff qualified with our Handguns, Patrol Rifles, and Shotguns.
We currently have 52 people in custody at the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail.
