October 30 Deputy Sheriff/School Resource Officer Mike Lewis filed a report with the LCSO regarding an alleged assault between two juvenile students at Chillicothe High School. School authorities, parents and juvenile officer are aware of and handling this matter.
November 03 we began an investigation of a registered sex offender which reported a change of address to a location alleged to be within 1,000 feet of a public or private school. A report has been submitted to Livingston County Prosecuting Attorney Adam Warren for consideration of charge(s).
November 04 a Dawn resident fell victim to a scam operation. Victim reported receiving call from "granddaughter" and indicated she was ill and in a car crash in St. Charles, MO. The granddaughter needed $1,000 to post bail and the victim was instructed to obtain two Green Dot cards valued at $500 each and call back with the numbers. Victim complied only to later learn the real grandchild was safe and home in Carroll County Missouri. The telephone number the victim had been contracted is from Quebec Canada. Information forwarded to the FBI.
November 05 Deputy Sheriff/School Resource Officer Mike Lewis began an investigation where a coach witnessed a student allegedly remove something from another student’s property at a game in Chillicothe. Subsequent investigation resulted in the return of the $60 that had been stolen. All parents and school officials are aware of and handling this matter.
November 08 deputies served a Carroll County arrest warrant on William Owen Foxworthy, 45, Avalon for alleged 2 counts of misdemeanor Passing Bad Check. Mr. Foxworthy was transferred to the custody of the Carroll County Sheriff in lieu of bond.
November 09 an investigation began on a reported Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree in the south east part of Livingston County. All persons were separated and cooperative. Everyone has been interviewed and a report is being submitted to Livingston County Prosecuting Attorney for consideration.
November 10 the LCSO obtained and served a search warrant in Avalon for firearms that were allegedly in possession of a prohibited person. Investigation has since resulted in an arrest warrant being issued for William Owen Foxworthy, 45, Hale, MO for 2 counts of alleged Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Bond has been set by the Court at $20,000. Investigation continues.
November 10 the LCSO investigated a domestic disturbance in Utica. All persons interviewed, neither party wished to assist with prosecution, information exchanged with both parties and they were separated.
November 10 a Livingston County arrest warrant was served on Austin Dale Leeper, 19, Chillicothe for alleged Violation of Bond Conditions on original charge of class B felony Distribution/Delivery/Manufacture or Attempt a Controlled Substance. Mr. Leeper was incarcerated in the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bond.
November 11 an investigation in the 300 block of N. 5th Street, Wheeling was initiated. Between November 09 and November 11 unknown person(s) removed two rolls of chain link fencing from the property.
November 13 victim reported having left vehicle parked at Wheeling Junction at U.S. 36 and unknown person(s) removed one license plate and the pins for the hood of the vehicle. Investigation continues.
November 13 deputies arrested Jeffrey D. McCoy, 36, Utica, on 2 Livingston County arrest warrants for alleged class A misdemeanor Tampering with Utility Meter and Failing to Appear in Court on motor vehicle equipment violation. Mr. McCoy subsequently posted bond and was released pending his next Court appearance.
November 14 a deputy served a Caldwell County arrest warrant on Angel Bernnice Alexander, 32, Chillicothe for alleged class A misdemeanor of Hindering Prosecution and Tampering with Motor Vehicle-2nd degree.
November 14 the LCSO served a Livingston County arrest warrant on Brenda L. Burnett, 54, for alleged Violation of Bond Conditions on original charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Bond was set by the Court at $20,000 cash. Ms. Burnett was transferred to the custody of Daviess Dekalb County Jail.
We are currently holding 60 people in custody at the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail.
