Deputy Nicholas Leadbetter
The week of 08/02/2015 Deputy Leadbetter attended the Blue Shield Tactical Law Enforcement Close Contact Defense Instructor program hosted by the Eastern Missouri Police Academy.
Deputy Leadbetter is now a certified instructed in different methods of ground defense which consists of maintaining control, arm locks, vascular restraints, and positional control that can help law enforcement with gaining control of combative and resisting subjects who may be trying to harm themselves or others.
To quote Nicholas: “This program provided me with a better mindset and skills for instructing others in law enforcement. I would like to thank Instructor Beshirs for his professionalism and his knowledge to share with others.”
Nicholas will soon be instructing much of his training to LCSO staff. Sheriff Cox is also notifying area law enforcement and jail administrators of the potential opportunity to receive the same training from Deputy Leadbetter.
I/we are proud of the work Deputy Leadbetter is doing and of his desire to teach these skills to law enforcement employees.
