The Wrong Way to Greet a Deputy Sheriff

Evening of October 07 Chillicothe Police advised of call(s) from an apartment complex in Chillicothe of a suspicious man in the building looking for a specific off-duty Livingston County Deputy Sheriff. The man reportedly was claiming he “Has a score to settle” with our deputy. The man was described as a white male, wearing a camo shirt and jeans and in his 40’s to 50’s.

Fortunately our deputy was not home at the time and the individual left when he could not locate the deputy.  Both the CPD and LCSO have continued with this investigation but are now asking the public for any tips.

Two things:

1.  We advise anyone this is NOT the method to contact any law enforcement officer of any agency. If you have a complaint about an employee of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office you are encouraged to contact Sheriff Steve Cox or Chief Deputy Michael Claypole at 660-646-0515 or through dispatch at 660-646-2121.

2.  We would appreciate any information on who this man is. Tips can be left at 660-646-0515, 660-646-2121, or confidential tips left through our website at www.livcoso.org
