February 03 Deputy Sheriff/School Resource Officer Mike Lewis filed a report with this office regarding a violation on parents with the compulsory school attendance law. The file will be turned over to the prosecutor for review.
February 05 the LCSO began an investigation of a domestic disturbance on Liv 216. The incident involved a mother and father and the matter turned ugly during the exchange of the child. Investigation is complete and the case will be submitted to Prosecuting Attorney Adam Warren for consideration of charges.
February 7 LCSO deputies were summoned to a location in Ludlow regarding a domestic disturbance during a Super Bowl gathering. A couple began arguing over some personal matters and the male left the home. No arrest was made due to lack of probably cause. All persons were interviewed and the male agreed to remain away for the night.
February 8 the LCSO began an investigation of a reported disturbance at a Super Bowl party in the North West part of Livingston County. The LCSO made contact with the victim at Hedrick Medical Center and learned the victim had been shot twice with a BB or Pellet gun. The victim reported excessive intoxication and a large number of people at the party. Victim declined any prosecution and did not want further investigation.
February 8 LCSO deputies served a Linn County arrest warrant on John M. Mutombo, 47, Chillicothe, for alleged class D felony Resisting Arrest/Detention/Stop and 4 class A misdemeanor charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Child 2nd degree, and 2 class B misdemeanor charges of Excessive Speed and Operating a Motor Vehicle in a Carless and Imprudent Manner. Mr. Mutombo was turned over to the Linn County Sheriff in lieu of $20,000 bond.
February 9 a MOST Wanted fugitive was arrested in Lewis County. Nickkol L. Starr, 20 was arrested on Livingston County warrant(s) for alleged felony possession of a controlled substance. Ms. Starr will be extradited to Livingston County at earliest opportunity.
February 9 Deputy Nicholas Leadbetter attended the Utica town meeting where area information was exchanged with those in attendance.
Currently the LCSO has 33 detainees in custody with 10 being females at the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail.
This week has been a very busy time for the LCSO with Court hearings and we have had 3 days of working the metal detector for the lengthy law days on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
LCSO staff has also remained very busy with a variety of on-going criminal investigations and working with other agencies on a few of the investigations.
