April 28 the LCSO and Missouri State Highway Patrol continued an investigation in rural Livingston County. That investigation involved searching property and seizing alleged evidence from 1 or more crimes in Livingston County. Additional search, interviews, and investigation is still taking place. Certain evidence has been submitted to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Lab for analysis.
April 30 the LCSO began an investigation or property damage and burglary to a storage locker unit. Investigation continues.
May 05 the LCSO responded to a report of disturbance/assault involving occupants of a semi on U.S. 36. No assault reported as it was a verbal disagreement. LCSO helped the female by transporting her to the Community Resource Center in Chillicothe for additional assistance. No charges being sought.
May 06 the LCSO helped the MSHP look into an abandoned and wrecked vehicle in the northeast part of Livingston County. Information developed was turned over to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
May 5 the LCSO extradited Samuel J. Southers, 36 from the Grundy County Sheriff on a Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Failure to Obey a Judge’s Order on Bond Conditions on original charge of class D felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon-While Intoxicated-Loaded Firearm. Bond was set at $25,000 cash on case #16LV-CR00201 with warrant dated May 04, 2016.
May 05 the LCSO was proud to present Ms. Madison Gregory with the 2016 Missouri Sheriff’s Association John Dennis Memorial Scholarship Award in the amount of $1,000. Deputy/School Resource Officer Chris Mueller had the honor to make the presentation for Sheriff Cox who was required to be present in Court. Ms. Gregory is the 6th High School Senior in Livingston County to receive this scholarship since 2001. Congrats to Madison Gregory!!!
May 02 the LCSO detained an adult citizen on a 96-hour Court order and transported the person to a treatment facility as directed by the Court.
May 02 the LCSO issued a Bosworth driver a citation for 91 in a 65 on U.S. 36 near Chillicothe.
April 30 a deputy issued a Georgia driver a citation for 88 in a 65 on U.S. 36 and Highway D.
The LCSO remained extremely busy last week with Court security, investigations, calls for service, and civil process service. We have had multiple times where no officer was available except for emergencies.
For the month of April we did 20 new CCW and 46 CCW renewal permits.
