
Our staff has remained very busy on a variety of on-going criminal investigations. We are continuing to follow up leads in winding down our lengthy investigation on Route V last week.
On April 22, we investigated a report of a violation of protection order that had been issued in Iowa. We have forwarded the information to the respective Iowa agency.
On April 21, we investigated a report of domestic violence/assault. The victim was contacted at a medical care provider and the investigation report is being submitted to the prosecuting attorney for consideration of charges.
On April 20, we served a Livingston County arrest warrant on Jeremiah J. Orona, 23, Chula, for alleged class C felony Passing Bad Check $500 or More/No Account/Insufficient Funds. Bond was set at $5,000 cash.
Last week Deputy Sheriff/School Resource Officer Mike Lewis filed an investigation report with our office regarding an alleged incident at the Chillicothe Middle School. It was reported a juvenile made statements about wishing he had a gun as he would harm teacher(s). The student had been removed from the class and Juvenile authorities were contacted. The school has taken administrative action and the investigation continues. A report has been submitted to the juvenile authorities for consideration of charge(s).
On April 17, we investigated a domestic disturbance in Utica. No arrests were made due to lack of probable cause and guidance was given to help resolve the matter.
Currently we have 32 people in custody at the Livingston County Jail, 10 of which are female detainees.
