Earlier this year the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office discovered information of a Livingston County resident with an out of state sex offense conviction. Our investigation resulted in the arrest and now conviction of Thomas Leon Midgyette, 57, Chillicothe for the felony violation of Failing to Register as a Sex Offender.
Mr. Midgyette was sentenced in Livingston County Circuit Court on June 14, 2016 and received a maximum 4-year sentence with a Suspended Execution of Sentence and placed on probation for 5-years.
Mr. Midgyette was released from Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail and is now in compliance with his registration requirements under Missouri law.
Mr. Midgyette was convicted in 1992 in the State of New Mexico for a sex offense with an 11-year-old child.
This case was investigated by Deputy Ryan Ford, prosecuted by Adam Warren, and heard by Presiding Circuit Judge Thomas N. Chapman.
