June 28 the LCSO began an investigation after receiving information a fugitive allegedly was considering killing certain officials in the judicial and/or law enforcement system. The LCSO quickly coordinated with area and state wide law enforcement, notifying those potentially in danger, and increasing security at our courthouse.
The orchestrated state wide investigation resulted in the arrest of Cody R. McClintick without incident on the late afternoon of June 28 in Marion County, Missouri. Mr. McClintick will be extradited back to Livingston County in the near future.
Mr. McClintick had been wanted on a felony Livingston County warrant for alleged Probation Violation of a felony drug conviction and had been a fugitive since June 17, 2016. Investigation is continuing and potential additional charge(s) will be considered.
We appreciate the assistance and cooperation of the Linn County and Marion County Sheriff, Missouri State Highway Patrol, MIAC, NITRO Task Force, the Brookfield, Chillicothe, and Hannibal Police and dispatch, and the Missouri Probation and Parole Office.
(Reminder everyone is innocent unless and until proven guilty in a Court of law. An arrest or arrest warrant are merely allegations and nothing more.)
