The LCSO is currently investigating a report of a burglary and theft of tool(s) from a location near Farmersville. We have recovered some of this equipment on a recent execution of a search warrant and we have questioned several persons of interest and currently seeking other persons of interest to speak with. The property has been returned to the rightful owner.
We are investigating a burglary and theft of a substantial amount of jewelry and at least one Stihl chainsaw from a location in the north east part of Livingston County. We have recovered the chainsaw during a recent search warrant execution and have interviewed person(s) of interest. We are still searching for the jewelry and continuing with that investigation.
We are continuing with a lengthy investigation of a physical assault which took place to a 3 year old child on or about March 17, 2012. The child was reported to have been choked by an unknown person at the residence. At present several juveniles have been interviewed and re-interviewed with parent(s) and juvenile authorities. Medical records have been obtained and the investigation continues. The Juvenile officer continues to be actively involved with our investigation.
We have received information of several area residents having received notification they had won a large prize from a location in Las Vegas, Nevada. The caller was requesting the “Prize Winner” go to a retailer and put money on a cash card and call back with the authorization codes and the prizes would then be shipped. This is nothing more then a scam and a different twist for criminals are using to try and create new victims by ripping people off.
On Friday morning we had 7 detainees from the LCSO Jail that appeared before the Honorable Jason Kanoy in Circuit Court.
On Friday we transferred James R. Garthwaite and Jeffery D. Stevens from the Livingston County Jail to the Missouri Department of Corrections in St. Joseph on Parole Violation Arrest Warrants.
On April 16, we served a Livingston County arrest warrant on Blake Addison Burton, 21, Chillicothe, for alleged Burglary 2nd degree and Theft/Stealing of property valued at more then $500.00. Bond was set at $5,000.
On April 16, we served a Livingston County arrest warrant on Richard Elliott Lee, 26, Trenton, for alleged class C felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. Bond was initially placed at $30,000.
The Livingston County Jail currently has 31 people in custody with an additional person scheduled to arrive later this afternoon; 9 of our detainees are female.
April 23-27 Deputy Chris Mueller has been at the Missouri State Highway Patrol Training Academy for Methamphetamine Lab/Waste Disposal Training. Deputy Mueller will be certified to disassemble and destroy dangerous Methamphetamine Labs in a safe manner.
