A recent POLL question on the LCSO website (www.livcoso.org) asked “What is the primary duty of every law enforcement officer in the state of Missouri?” Multiple choice options received the following response: Less than 2% picked Serving Warrants, 5% picked Respond to and Investigate Crimes, 35% chose Uphold the Constitution for everyone, 58.3% selected Protect and Serve. The correct answer is to Uphold the Constitution for everyone. When every law enforcement officer and agency has the Constitution as top priority all the other work and requirements of law enforcement quickly falls into place.
The LCSO has remained very busy with past and present criminal investigations, assisting other agencies, and administrative duties.
