  1. On the evening of May 11, a parent and child reported potential attempted child abduction in Wheeling.  A juvenile female reported walking from the park when a man in an open top white colored jeep pulled up and grabbed the girl who then fled.  The juvenile reported the man was about 5’3”, bald, some facial hair, and medium build.  Other adults and children in the area were questioned but had not seen the person or vehicle.  Information was shared with area agencies.  Investigation continues at this time.




  1. On the evening of May 14, two female detainees were found to be fighting in the cell block.  The disturbance was quashed and investigation reveals the two were allegedly fighting over the television channel.  A report will be submitted to the prosecuting attorney and an administrative hearing for the alleged jail rule violations.




  1. On May 10, we began an investigation of property damage at an address in the 9000 block of Liv 228.  Unknown person(s) had driving a loud pickup truck through the yard tearing up grass and plants before.  Investigation continues.




  1. We are currently investigating a report of identity theft.  A local resident’s credit was stolen and the card number used in Michigan.  Law Enforcement there has contacted the residents where items were allegedly shipped to.  Investigation continues.


  1. On May 10, we began an investigation of a stolen Stihl BG 55 Leaf Blower.  This was stolen within the last two months from the victim’s pickup bed.  The location of the theft was unknown.




  1. On May 12, we began an investigation of the theft of a lap top computer and carrying case from a resident on Liv 433 near Dawn.  Investigation continues.




  1. On May 12, we investigated a report of trash dumping near Liv 237.  The persons responsible were identified and have been talked with.  No additional action was requested by the reporting party.




  1. On May 11, we investigated a report of alleged Violation of a Protection Order from Carroll County.  A subsequent Livingston County arrest warrant was served on Timothy Eugene Rodenberg, 27, Bogard, for alleged Violation of Adult Protection Order.  Bond was originally set at $1,000.




  1. On May 12, we investigated an endangering the welfare of a child.  The matter remains under investigation and the child was not injured.


  1. Our staff has remained very busy with a variety of calls for service, criminal investigations, and jail-detainee issues, assisting citizens, responding to traffic complaints, and assisting other agencies.




  1. Today is Law Day in Circuit Court.   We have a total of 20 detainees we are transporting to Court today for mandatory hearings. 




  1. We currently have 45 detainees in custody at the Livingston County Jail, 7 of which are female detainees.  The weekend jail population reached a total of 49 persons in custody.
