9-20 the LCSO arrested a suspect and found him to be in possession of “Brass Knuckles” during the arrest. The item is prohibited and a report is being submitted to the prosecuting attorney for consideration of charge(s).
9-21 the LCSO responded to Utica on a report of a domestic disturbance. The investigation revealed the male did not violate the law but was extremely upset and had left the scene prior to our arrival. The LCSO has attempted to help this couple obtain additional services.
9-23 the LCSO began an investigation of a stolen vehicle from the 21000 block of Liv 365. Investigation is on-going and a potential suspect has been identified.
9-23 early morning hours the LCSO assisted the Carroll County Sheriff and MSHP on a 1 vehicle accident in south east Livingston County where a different stolen vehicle from Hale was recovered. Vehicle was impounded and evidence was collected. A potential suspect has been identified and the investigation is continuing.
9-24 the LCSO began an investigation of alleged Violation of a Protection Order-Adult. The incident report is being submitted to the prosecuting attorney for consideration of charge(s) and a subsequent misdemeanor arrest warrant was issued for John Michael Eads, 51. Mr. Eads has not been located at the time of this press release.
9-25 the LCSO assisted the MSHP on a traffic accident investigation on U.S. 36.
9-25 the LCSO continued with investigation on alleged perjury and false declaration case(s). Reports are being submitted to the prosecuting attorney for consideration of charge(s).
9-25 the LCSO began an investigation of residential burglary. A home in the 6000 block of Liv 416 was unlawfully entered when unoccupied. Photo(s) of the suspects were obtained from game camera(s) which had been positioned near the home. Investigation continues and additional charges are potentially pending.
9-26 the LCSO began an investigation of an abandoned vehicle north of Chillicothe. A pipe commonly used in smoking methamphetamine was observed in the pickup and was seized. The pickup was towed from the scene. Morning of 9-27 the Chillicothe Police took a report of the same vehicle having been stolen from Chillicothe. 9-27 the LCSO continued with the investigation and interviewed the vehicle owner regarding the incident and possible stalking on 9-26, when that person was found to be in possession of alleged methamphetamine. The LCSO arrested Corey David Stottlemyre, 41, Chillicothe for alleged possession of methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine drug paraphernalia. The CPD is continuing with investigation of alleged false report of stolen vehicle. Mr. Stottlemyre was transferred to the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail pending filing of formal charge(s).
9-27 the LCSO assisted the MSHP with a 1 vehicle traffic accident on U.S. 36 about 3 miles east of Chillicothe. The driver had lost control of the vehicle and the truck rolled at least one time ejecting all kinds of metal, hundreds of nails, screws, and other objects onto the highway. The truck came to rest south of the roadway and a witness reported a male exited the pickup and took off running. Officers removed a great deal of debris from the road and Gabrielson Towing removed the remainder of the items dangerous to vehicles from the area. The LCSO began a search of the general area and subsequently found a male hiding in a brushy area about 100 yards from the crash. The driver was turned over to the trooper. The driver is currently out on bond for a methamphetamine related charge in another county.
9-27 the LCSO investigated a disturbance on the east side of Chillicothe just east of the city limits. There is an on-going harassment and disturbance issue between a person and neighbor(s) of that property. Investigation continues. Enforcement efforts have taken place prior to this on other alleged incidents.
9-20 the LCSO arrested Virgil Arthur Hurling, 49, Homeless on 3 Livingston County arrest warrants all for Failure to Obey a Judge’s Order on Pay or Appear with original charges being Peace Disturbance with bond of $170.50, Assault 4th degree with $1,029.50 bond, and Trespass-1st degree with bond of $437.50.
9-22 the LCSO and MSHP served a Livingston County arrest warrant on Matthew James Lowe, 36, Wheeling. The warrant was for alleged Violation of Bond Conditions on original class D felony Possession of Controlled Substance. Mr. Lowe was transferred to the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail in lieu of $15,000 bond.
Recently an excessive speed citation was issued to an out of state driver for a violation in Chula.
9-25 the LCSO had 15 detainees appear in Livingston County Court.
9-27 about ½ of the LCSO received firearms training and certification on duty weapon, off-duty handgun, rifle, and shotgun use.
The LCSO has remained very busy with criminal and fugitive investigations, Court and Courthouse security, calls for service, assisting other agencies, and assisting motorists.
Recently a MSHP Trooper stopped a 16 year old driver for excessive speed of over 100 M.P.H. in a 45 M.P.H. near Park Lane in Chillicothe. The inexperienced driver had other young passenger(s) in the vehicle. Suspect cited for mandatory appearance in Court in addition to other notifications.
9-26 the LCSO officers received new ballistic vests as part of a required update replacement of which about ½ was paid for through a federal grant. The normal price of these vests is approximately $1,000 each.
Currently the LCSO has 34 people in custody at the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail, 9 of which are female detainees.
