September 28 about 11:24 p.m. Deputy Nicholas Leadbetter was dispatched to check on a person wearing dark clothing and walking in or near the roadway on Highway C near Dawn. Deputy Leadbetter made contact with the adult male and saw a bag dropped near the suspect. A check of the bag allegedly revealed methamphetamine and methamphetamine drug paraphernalia equipment.
Upon further investigation Deputy Leadbetter arrested Kord Patrick Johnson, 27, Dawn for the alleged drug crimes. Mr. Johnson was turned over to the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail and formal charges have since been filed in Livingston County Associate Court on class D felony drug possession.
Mr. Johnson is also on probation/parole with the State of Missouri for convictions of Non-Support and a Drug Conviction. A Probation/Parole warrant has also been issued.
