The members of the Livingston County Sheriffs Office have remained very busy with a variety of incidents, arrests, investigations, jail activity, assisting our citizens, and assisting other agencies.
On May 31, we began an investigation of trespassing on private property on Liv 435. The land owner then requested no prosecution after learning the identity of the person(s) involved.
On June 01, we began an investigation of reported animal neglect at a location on Liv 232. The reporting person was concerned about the physical condition of one or more horses on the property. Investigation revealed the horse(s) in question had recently been obtained in a sale and were of very poor condition. The new animal owner is working to restore the animals health to avoid being put down. Follow-up investigation will continue to monitor the progress of the animals.
On June 02, we began an investigation of property damage and burglary to an unoccupied home near Liv 420 and Liv 405. Unknown persons forced entry into the home and a shed. Nothing of real value was on the property prior to the burglary. Investigation continues.
On June 03, we began an investigation in Wheeling of reported burglary and theft. A suspect has been identified and has eluded deputies. We are continuing with the investigation and will notify Probation and Parole of the situation with their parolee.
On May 23, we served a Saline County arrest warrant on Tyler Gene Harper, 19, Lincoln, MO for alleged Failure to Appear in Court on original charge of Operating a Motor Vehicle without Insurance. Bond was set at $300 cash.
On May 26, we served a Randolph County arrest warrant on Brandy Marie Johnson, 27, Marceline, for alleged class B felony drug violation and class C felony drug violation. Bond was initially placed at $45,000. Ms. Johnson has since been released on bond.
We currently have 34 people in custody at the Livingston County Jail, 4 of which are female detainees.
