The Livingston County Sheriff's Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Detention/Transport Officer. The successful applicant must be 21 years of age-must possess a proper/valid Missouri driver's license, high school diploma or GED, excellent communications ability, able to handle stressful situations and multiple tasks. The position provides on the job training and may require use of force, handling firearms, dealing with aggressive and violent people, searching detainees and transporting detainees to/from jail, court, prison, or other mandated facility. Applicant must be able to acquire a Missouri Class E driver's license within 30 days of being hired. Application process require an oral interview(s), drug screen and background investigation. Livingston County provides equipment, 100% funding for L.A.G.E.R.S. retirement at LT-8 level, 100% Health (excellent Blue Cross and Blue Shield) and Bridge Insurance for full time employees, $500 Healthcare Assistance Plan, life insurance and county contributes to C.E.R.F. retirement, which provides Livingston County employees one of the BEST retirement plans in county government.

Current 2024 pay: $15.00 an hour with flexible schedule:

LCSO pays overtime after 160 hours in 28-day pay period.
