Be cautious when dealing with any business you do not know and even when answering advertisements for employment as they could be Identity Theft SCAMS.

The LCSO has received reports of people applying to somewhat locally printed advertisements and even job postings online. These groups want you to submit your personal information when “Applying for a Job”. They are praying on those who need or are looking for different employment.

Last week a local resident completed an application online for a healthcare payroll clerk and submitted personal information. Just this week that person received a letter from an unrecognized bank informing the victim of their notice on change of address to Colorado.

A check with the legitimate company shows this was an online SCAM and it is not how they conduct business. Now our victim has to continue to worry about credit and other fraud with this identity theft.
