LCSO assists Highway Patrol with Pursuit

04/04/2018

April 03 about 10:16 p.m. two LCSO deputy sheriffs assisted the Missouri State Highway Patrol vehicle a vehicle pursuit on U.S. 36 which was in Caldwell County and entered into Livingston County traveling east.

The suspect vehicle was traveling around 50 miles per hour for much of the time with the driver refusing to stop. The MSHP used their spike strips with at least one tire getting spiked around the west end of Livingston County. Our 2 officers used the LCSO spoke strip about a mile west of Chillicothe and the suspect vehicle ran over the spikes and the vehicle continued east bound around 45-55 miles per hour.

The suspect vehicle finally came to a stop east of Chillicothe and a male occupant quickly fled on foot with several officers following. Unfortunately due to the number of officers following the suspect we could not deploy K-9 Zaki to apprehend the suspect. However, the officers caught the suspect and it was determined he had an active Jackson County arrest warrant.  Additional investigation taking place.

The LCSO and Chillicothe Police assisted the MSHP. Any additional information should be requested from the MSHP.

Good work by all, no injuries, and suspect(s) taken into custody.
