Special Traffic Enforcement Gets Results

July 5th through 7th Sheriff Cox and on July 8th Detective Ford were assigned to work traffic enforcement for a part of their shift. Focus was on extreme speeding and aggressive or drunk/drugged driving on U.S. 36 due to number of complaints and help increase driver safety awareness. Many drivers were stopped with numerous citations and warnings given. Emphasis was given in the areas of U.S. 36 and the junctions near Mooresville, Utica, and Wheeling.

These are the citations  issued by the LCSO office, no drunk or drugged drivers were located. One stop lead to a vehicle search due to probable cause of contraband. Two persons posted bond for extreme speeds and/or probable cause they would not take care of the summons through payment or appearance.

July 05 a speeding citation was issued to an Illinois driver for 80 in a 65.

July 05 a speeding citation was issued to an Illinois driver for 81 in a 65.

July 05 a speeding citation was issued to an Illinois driver for 78 in a 65.

July 05 a speeding citation was issued to a Kansas City driver for 80 in a 65.

July 05 a citation for no auto insurance was issued to a Breckenridge driver.

July 06 a speeding citation was issued to a Kansas City driver for 88 in a 65.

July 06 a speeding citation was issued to a Meadville driver for 85 in a 65.

July 06 a speeding citation was issued to a Kansas driver for 76 in a 65 where a near collision took place on U.S. 36 at the Wheeling Junction.

July 06 a speeding citation was issued to a Nebraska driver for 82 in a 65.

July 06 a speeding citation was issued to a Florida driver for 80 in a 65.

July 06 a speeding citation was issued to an Illinois driver for 79 in a 65.

July 07 a speeding citation was issued to an Independence driver for 78 in a 60.

July 07 a speeding citation was issued to a Harrisonville driver for 81 in a 65.

July 07 a speeding citation was issued to a Texas driver for 85 in a 65.

July 07 a speeding citation was issued to a New Mexico driver for 80 in a 65.

July 07 a speeding citation was issued to an Illinois driver for 84 in a 65.

July 07 a speeding citation was issued to a Grain Valley driver for 78 in a 65 and given warnings on other violations.

July 07 a speeding citation was issued to a Kansas City driver for 90 in a 65.

July 07 at 4:28 p.m. a Kansas driver was cited and detained for traveling 92 in a 65 on U.S. 36 near the Chillicothe Airport. The driver posted $250 cash bond and was given an August 08 date to meet Judge Valbracht.

July 08 a Rolla driver was cited for excessive speed of 84 in a 65.

July 08 an Illinois driver was cited for 88 in a 65 and for No Valid Drivers’ License. This person posted bond at the LCSO.

July 08 an Ohio driver was cited for 80 in a 65.

July 08 an Illinois driver was cited for 81 in a 65.

July 08 a Kansas driver was cited for 80 in a 65.

July 08 an Illinois driver was cited for 85 in a 65.


 

 

Fines including Court Costs for Associate Division of Livingston County on speeding violations are as follows:

1-5 over the speed limit is $83, construction zone $118, with workers in construction zone $333

6-10 over the speed limit is $97, construction zone $132, with workers present is $347

11-15 over the speed limit is $122, construction zone $157, with workers present is $372

16-19 over the speed limit is $147, construction zone $182, with workers present is $397

20-25 over the speed limit is $222, construction zone $257, with workers present is $472.

Anything 26 or more over the speed limit gets the driver a personal appearance before Judge Valbracht after a trip to the LCSO to post bond.
