Update for Livingston County, October 10, 2018 3:20 p.m.

MoDOT has informed our office they are preparing to divert traffic on U.S. 36 into 2 lane just west of U.S. 65 instead of the current crossover near the Grand River and remain 2 lane all the way to Utica. MoDOT reports the Grand River is continuing to rise and U.S. 65 remains closed at this time.

We do not have an estimate of when U.S. 65 will reopen. We recommend using MoDOT website at https://traveler.modot.org/report/modottext.aspx for continuous updated information.

Do not venture into flood water. With colder weather arriving it only increases the risks to anyone or animal in the water.  If you are on U.S. 36 please watch for the emergency workers, other traffic and also the many displaced animals. So many motorists are not from this area and continue to drive excessive speeds and not slow down for the workers and officers.

Be safe,

Sheriff Cox
