November 05 the LCSO began an investigation where a local senior citizen had been contacted by a scammer regarding their checking account. The scammer worked at trying to confuse our citizen in order to obtain some personal information and the numbers located on the bottom of the victim’s checks.

Fortunately the victim was not out any money and has alerted the bank. Additional information was shared with the victim and family on securing identity.

Please share this information with friends and family and hopefully save someone else from becoming a victim.
