Area residents have been receiving emails from SCAMMERS attempting to fool people into believing they are with a spyware software developer and have HACKED your account and computer. The criminal claims to have installed commands to keep updated on any attempts to change passwords or eliminate the threat and rendering you and your information completely vulnerable and helpless.

The creeper claims to be stalking the intended victim by having control of the camera and microphone in addition to any and all information contained on the computer or electronic device.

The scammer is attempting to create fear of exploiting you and your information on your computer or electronic device. The criminal usually requests you transfer several hundred dollars or more to an account or contact them in a specific way to send funds.

We have checked with our computer and internet expert who recommend the best way to protect ourselves is to change both the password to the computer and email accounts and ignoring the threatening email.

Don’t fall victim to these criminals and keep your money!

Be safe,

Sheriff Steve Cox
