November 28 two LCSO officers responded to a well-being check in the southern part of Livingston County. An elderly couple was contacted and the gentlemen was found to be okay. Personal and health issues were a concern and a firearm was removed from the home for safe keeping. Additional services requested.

November 30 the man alleged in the smoker theft and ham tossing was issued a Careless and Imprudent citation for the manner he reportedly left the location in Utica and additional act(s). That report has also been submitted to the prosecuting attorney’s office for consideration of additional charge(s).

On December 01 about 11:50 p.m. a deputy was on the west end of Chula monitoring traffic and activity in the community. The deputy reported seeing a vehicle approaching from the east and driving on the wrong side of the roadway. As the vehicle passed the deputy turned to stop is and the other driver quickly turned onto Carey Street where the car was quickly parked and the male driver fled on foot. Two deputies searched the area and a short while later a male was found with his hands up and wet pants from the knees down, subsequently resulting in the arrest of Joshua Shane McElwee, 29, Chillicothe for alleged DWI, Driving on Wrong Side of the Roadway, and Resisting Arrest by Flight. Mr. McElwee was processed at the Chillicothe PD and released on summons.

December 01 the LCSO arrested Jamie N. Batres, 33, Kansas City at the Chillicothe Correctional Center upon her release. Ms. Batres is wanted by Sedgwick County, Kansas on a felony warrant for alleged Probation Violation on felony drug charges. Ms. Batres was transferred to the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail in lieu of $75,000 bond.

December 02 the LCSO began an investigation of a 2000 Chevrolet 4 door white colored pickup stolen from a location in Chula. Recovery of the vehicle was made near Highway 65 and Liv 216. Video evidence has been reviewed and the investigation is continuing at this time.

December 03 Mr. William Brandon Jackson, 23, Chillicothe registered last week with the LCSO as required by Sex Offender Registration laws at an address in 300 block Mansur Street. This date Mr. Jackson has reported moving to 635 Missouri Street in Chillicothe, updates on LCSO website, www.livcoso.org.

December 03 a deputy assisted with a semi-tractor and trailer which ran off into the median near Wheeling Junction. The incident took approximately 2 ½ hours for the deputy to assist the MSHP and Gabrielson’s Tow to safely remove the semi.

December 03 the LCSO also assisted the MSHP and emergency responders with a possible one vehicle injury accident in the vicinity of Highways K and V.

December 03 a Livingston County Registered Sex Offender reported moving to a new address at 635 Missouri in Chillicothe, MO. William Brandon Jackson, 33 had initially reported with the LCSO that he was living at 330 Mansur Street. Additional information can be found at www.livcoso.org or find us on Facebook.

Currently the LCSO has 36 people incarcerated in the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail, 14 of which are female detainees.

The LCSO has several other on-going investigations, end of budget year administrative obligations and other administrative duties.

This weekend the LCSO continued with investigations, assisted motorists and a few traffic violation warnings were issued.
