December 04, 2018 the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office received a Letter of Commendation from Daviess County Sheriff Ben Becerra for the work Zaki and Deputy Mueller performed on August 30, 2018.

Daviess County Sheriff had asked for assistance that day from our office that and K-9 Zaki. Sheriff Becerra and multiple officers including federal task for agents were in their 3rd day of searching for a suspect allegedly involved in a $10 million dollar marijuana growing operation. The officers had a possible general location of the suspect and the large perimeter was secured.

Sheriff Becerra commended Deputy Mueller and Zaki for their quick response and within 20 minutes of arrival Zaki and Deputy Mueller had flushed the suspect from a corn field basically into the arms of another officer.

Sheriff Becerra reported he had a “Bird’s Eye View” on the perimeter and described the work of Zaki and Deputy Mueller along with the apprehension of the suspect as a “CLASSIC” and further noted without Zaki and Deputy Mueller the suspect would not have been captured.

The LCSO is always ready and willing to help anyone and any agency in need. We are very pleased to hear the positive comments on our staff. In this instance Deputy Mueller and K-9 Zaki did an amazing job and we are proud to have them on our team. We also want to thank Sheriff Becerra for both reaching out for our help and sharing his appreciation.
