Press Release from Missouri State Fire Marshall Investigator

The Missouri State Fire Marshal's Office is proud to announce that progress has been made in the Canadian Pacific Railway bridge fire that occurred on 10/29/2018. On Thursday, December 6th, three suspects were identified, arrested and charged with 2 felony counts each. Knowingly Burning and Property Damage in the 1st Degree.

The suspects were identified as:

1.       Destanie Dawn Batson of Chillicothe, Missouri

2.       Kyle Jacob Mace of Chillicothe, Missouri

3.       James Paul Eugene Haight of Chillicothe, Missouri

All are currently being held at the Daviess/DeKalb Regional Jail in lieu of $25,000.00 Bond The timely resolution to this case could not have been achieved without the overwhelming cooperation and dedication of the following six agencies: Missouri State Fire Marshal's Office, Livingston County Sheriff's Office, Canadian Pacific Railway Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigations, Chillicothe Police Department and the Saint Joseph Police Department's Forensics Division. A special Thank You is also due to the Livingston County Community. To those of you who called in with information and tips on this case, your dedication to the safety of this community is appreciated. Numerous tips were received and processed, several of which were very valuable.
