Just after midnight March 02 a deputy stopped a vehicle on U.S. 36 for 86 in a 65. The driver did not have a valid license and subsequent check with Dept. of Revenue showed the driver had 11 prior convictions for driving while suspended/revoked. The deputy arrested Jordan L. Haslett, 27, KCMO for the alleged speeding and driving while revoked. Deputy Dustin Woelfle summoned Deputy Leadbetter and K-9 Zaki to the scene as they were returning from Carrollton and Deputy Woelfle had concerns of possible drugs in the vehicle.

K-9 Zaki indicated the odor of drugs was present about the safe which was seized. Further investigation resulted in the seizure of scales with what appeared to be methamphetamine and marijuana residue and a safe from the vehicle. A search warrant was obtained for the safe which resulted in the seizure of a loaded Taurus .40 caliber handgun, 4 bags of suspected methamphetamine, 2 More cigarettes which had been dipped and were wet with suspected PCP and a credit/debit card reader with bullet. The drugs are being submitted to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Lab for identification and weight. Mr. Haslett was incarcerated in the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail pending filing of charges.
