LCSO receives Grant contract for Deputy pay supplement

06/24/2019

The MoSMART board and the Missouri Department of Public Safety has awarded the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office a one year continuing grant to supplement salaries of our deputy sheriffs.

For July 01, 2019 through June 30, 2020 our deputy sheriffs will receive an additional $100 per month to help boost their wages. The grant total is for just over $14,000 and also covers the additional fringe benefit costs associated with the increased wage.

This is from a grant application from the Deputy Sheriff Salary Supplement Funds grant submitted by Sheriff Steve Cox with approval from Presiding Commissioner Ed Douglas.

There is a huge difference in law enforcement salaries just around Missouri for all law enforcement officers, dispatchers, and detention or corrections officers. The men and women of every agency in Missouri give you and our cities, counties and state 110% to keep you safe. We are hopeful that one day the huge disparity is addressed.
