LCSO Arrests Man in Wheeling

Sunday, July 14, 2019 the LCSO was summoned to a location in Wheeling area for a reported domestic assault and trespassing. A deputy responded to the location and learned an adult female was claiming to have been physically assaulted. As the deputy was going to speak with the male suspect he reportedly fled on foot and was told numerous times to stop but eventually stopped when he was warned he was about be tasered. The suspect, Dustin Lee Ritchie, 35, Pleasant Valley, MO for alleged Domestic assault and resisting arrest. The deputy reported Mr. Ritchie continued to physically resist arrest, was placed on the ground and ground control techniques were required to get Mr. Ritchie to be handcuffed.

Mr. Ritchie was taken to the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail and on July 15 an arrest warrant was issued in the 43rd Judicial Circuit for Mr. Ritchie charging him with alleged class E felony Resisting Arrest/Detention/Stop by Fleeing-Creating a Substantial Risk of Serious Injury/death to Any Person, 575.150 RSMO. Bond was initially placed at $10,000 on case #19LV-CR00411.

Mr. Ritchie is also on probation/parole for crime(s) of Distribution of Controlled Substance/Possession Controlled Substance.   Information is being sent to the probation/parole officer for consideration.

Fortunately no one was injured in this incident.
