01/15/2020

The Livingston County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) and Chillicothe Police Department (CPD) have jointly been involved in a lengthy methamphetamine investigation. On January 15, 2020 the LCSO stopped a suspect vehicle on U.S. 36. near the airport with additional investigation taking place from both agencies.

K-9 Zaki and Deputy Leadbetter were summoned to the scene and Zaki alerted to the odor of drug(s) being present. Investigation resulted in the seizure of suspected Methamphetamine and controlled prescription medication packaged improperly.

Officers arrested Amy L. Nieman, 48, Mooresville, for alleged felony Possession of Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine and felony Possession of Controlled Substance-scheduled prescription medication. Report being submitted to Livingston County Prosecuting Attorney Adam Warren for consideration.

Ms. Nieman was transferred to the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail pending formal charges being filed and bond assigned.

Great work by both agencies.
