The Livingston County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) administrative facility has temporarily restricted access for the general public to the Sheriff's Office building at 901 Webster Street.  We will continue with all law enforcement services, we are merely limiting access to our building and altering how we handle more administrative functions.

Please understand your health and safety is very important to us.  Law enforcement and first responders have a higher risk of contact with ill or potentially ill people.  The LCSO is a small agency and each of our employees are considered essential Public Safety staff, our goal is to be here to help everyone when needed and in doing so we believe it is prudent and responsible to take these steps.  We too must adhere to the CDC guidelines in that if we are exposed we have process for those employees to self-isolate which has potential to hinder our ability to serve the public.

Temporary changes for the LCSO:

For administrative needs first call our office (660-646-0515) during normal business hours Monday-Friday between 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. and speak with our staff about your non-emergency needs.  These are for daily questions such civil process, eviction notices, copies of reports, bond information and basically anything that does not require a physical law enforcement response.

If you need a law enforcement officer to respond please call Dispatch at 660-646-2121 or 911 for emergencies.  The dispatcher will assign a deputy or the sheriff to respond or return your call.

Anyone wanting to make a walk-in report needs to first call either the administrative office (660-646-0515) during normal administrative hours or dispatch (660-646-2121) unless an emergency (call 911) and a deputy or sheriff will respond or contact you.

We will not be providing fingerprint services to the general public until at least Monday, May 04, 2020.

CCW renewals will not take place until at least Monday, May 04, 2020.  CCW renewals will not be charged the $10 monthly late fee provided you are not 6 months or more expired.  Call for an appointment if you are approaching 6 months expiration.

CCW new permit applications will not be accepted or processed until at least May 04, 2020.

Bond Supervision Services will NOT be meeting at the LCSO until further notice.  Call your bond supervision services worker at their Hamilton office, 816-583-1050.

Registered Offenders will be receiving instructions by mail from this office on how we will handle those obligations.

Any person needing to register as a new offender in Livingston County shall first call the LCSO at 660-646-0515 and schedule an appointment.

Again, these precautions are in place to allow us to help protect everyone during this pandemic.  Everyone's health and safety is very important to us!

We will continue to investigate crimes, patrol, handle calls for service, help people and complete other statutory obligations.  We are merely being responsible to/for our citizens and staff.  We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Respectfully,

Sheriff Steve Cox and Staff
