Zaki Scheduled to Return to Full Duty in May

Deputy Zaki

Livingston County Sheriff's Office K-9 Zaki was injured in a use of force incident in March and was assaulted by the suspect.  Zaki has remained off duty since that incident and has made multiple visits to the vet.  Information was shared with a DVM in Columbia, MO on the tests and condition.

We received very good news this week in that Zaki will be returning to full duty the week of May 24.  The vet wants to make sure Zaki is well healed before going full duty again.  Zaki has been receiving permitted training with his handler during this time away from the office.

During Zaki's absence Linn County Sheriff Jeff Henke and his K-9 have been great assistance to our office and has helped us multiple times.  Truly thankful for this TEAMWORK!

We appreciate all the care and concern expressed for Zaki as he is a great deputy for us and he is eager to get back to patrol duties for our citizens.  Thank you!
