Incident Reports:

June 01 the LCSO recovered a stolen handgun from a person who found the weapon. 

June 03 LCSO investigated animal neglect case in Utica.  The dog in question had no shade, food or water.  Historically we have worked with the animal owner in the past on education and direction.  Animal owner was cited for Animal Neglect and given direction on care for the animal and follow-up continuing to take place.

June 5 an incident report began on a vehicle which burned on LIV 385 the previous day.  Apparently the vehicle was stuck in the mud on private property and overheated catching fire.

LCSO applied for an arrest warrant for an adult male who previously lived in Livingston County and allegedly caused damage to a cemetery.  The man had reportedly claimed in April he was going to repair the damages and nothing has been done.

June 08 LCSO began a child sex offense investigation that involved only young juveniles.  Case is continuing and multiple agencies and parents have been notified.

June 09 LCSO began an investigation of theft investigation involving a chainsaw.  A suspect has been identified but has not been located.  The suspect is a fugitive with multiple warrants for arrest.  Additional charges are expected.

June 10 LCSO began investigation of theft.  Unknown person(s) had removed a Danuser Intimidator Tree and Post Puller attachment from an outbuilding on Highway F.  Investigation continues.

LCSO is working with the Chillicothe Police on a child endangerment and drug distribution investigation.  LCSO obtained additional information an adult male was in possession of methamphetamine and seized that and other evidence.  Investigation has included interviewing a juvenile with parent and obtained information the adult male suspect has allegedly frequently distributed methamphetamine to the juvenile and even taught the child how to inject methamphetamine.  A hotline call was made to the Child Abuse Hotline and LCSO and CPD are seeking new charges against the suspect.  This has been an in-depth investigation.  Services are being offered to the victim/family for treatment and care.  Additional investigation is continuing.

 

Most Wanted Updates:

June 4 added Nathaniel W. Watkins, 35, Kansas City, wanted for alleged Violation of Bond Conditions on original class E felony Resisting/Interfering with Arrest and class E felony Driving While Suspended/Revoked.  Bond set at $20,000 on case #20LV-CR00004-01 with warrant dated June 02, 2020.

June 10 added Christian James Elliott, 24, Grandview wanted for alleged class D felony Possession of Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine.  Bond set at $10,000 on case #20LV-CR00314 with warrant dated June 04, 2020.  Mr. Elliott is currently on Probation/Parole for conviction of Tampering with Motor Vehicle-1st degree.

 

Other Arrests:

June 02 LCSO arrested Shelbi Lynn Shira, 28, Chillicothe at the request of the Court and she was transferred to the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.

June 02 LCSO arrested Amanda L. Burns, 38, Meadville at the request of the Court and she was transferred to the DDRJ.

June 02 arrested Carol Ann Head, 50, Chillicothe per request of the court to be held in DDRJ for alleged bond violation on original possession of controlled substance case.

June 06 LCSO served a federal arrest warrant on Seth Alan Turbyfill, 31, Chillicothe on bond or probation violation for original weapons offense crime.  Mr. Turbyfill was taken to the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail pending transfer to the U.S. Marshalls.

June 10 LCSO arrested Miranda Mae Brown, 19, Chillicothe on Livingston County warrant for Drug Violation.  Ms. Brown was released on bond by the Court.

June 10 LCSO arrested Alec Drake Trent, 24, on Court order as sentenced to 5 days in the DDRJ for a criminal conviction.  LCSO transported Mr. Drake to DDRJ.

June 10 LCSO extradited William J. Knouse, 41, Wheeling from the Cooper County Sheriff on Livingston County felony arrest warrant for alleged Delivery of Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine.  Mr. Knouse is now at the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail in lieu of bond.  Mr. Knouse was one of two people with arrest warrants who were not located on the May 29 Round-Up by multiple law enforcement agencies.

June 11 LCSO extradited Haley Marie Swain, 18, wanted on Livingston County arrest warrant 20LV-CR00269 for alleged class A felony Distribution of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine in a Protected Location in with bond set at $100,000 cash.  Ms. Swain remains in the DDRJ in lieu of bond.

 

Citations:

June 5 a deputy issued a Chillicothe driver a speeding citation on U.S. 65 in construction zone at the Grand River Bridge for 50 in a 35.

June 06 a deputy issued a speeding citation to an Olathe Kansas driver for 90 in a 65 on U.S. 36 at Utica Junction.

June 06 a deputy issued a speeding citation to an Olathe Kansas driver for 101 in a 65 on U.S. 36 at Highway 65.  This resulted in the arrest of William Sparks, 17, who subsequently posted bond and released with a mandatory court appearance date.

June 06 a deputy issued a speeding citation to a Jamesport driver for 92 in a 65 on U.S. 36 at LIV 269.

June 11 LCSO responded to a call of careless and imprudent driving of a southbound vehicle on 65 from Chula Junction.  Deputy found the vehicle and issued the Des Moines driver a speeding citation for 57 in a 45.

 

Additional Information:

June 4 extradited Spencer Chase Pittman, 24, Wheeling, was extradited from the Hamilton Police Department on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Failure to Obey a Judge's Order on bond for Possession of Controlled Substances-Methamphetamine and Heroin.  Mr. Pittman was taken to the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.

June 4 extradited Angela Stock, 40, Wheeling, was extradited from the Hamilton Police Department on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Failure to Obey a Judge's Order on bond for Possession of Controlled Substances-Methamphetamine and Heroin.  Ms. Stock was taken to the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.

June 10 LCSO member attended law enforcement funeral in Dekalb County.

June 11 assisted the Missouri Probation and Parole Officers with at least one client contact on concerns of methamphetamine distribution/use. Minor drug paraphernalia was seized and P/P are handling the situation.

LCSO had a significant amount of Court this week and things are really picking back up at the Courthouse. 

LCSO has helped several stranded motorists, assisted MSHP on investigations, worked with the Chillicothe Police on multiple things and continue with many criminal and fugitive investigations.

Currently the LCSO has 39 people in custody.
