Deer Collision Damage to Patrol Vehicle

 

Incident Reports:

May 21 LCSO began theft investigation from the 500 block of S. Second Street in Wheeling.  Victim reported 15 gallons of fuel, green colored 1 gallon gas jug, Poulan 18" bar chainsaw, 1 quart Stihl bar oil, Craftsman 16" chainsaw and possibly other items having been stolen from his property on or about May 19.  Update June 10 all items other than the gasoline removed from the parked vehicle are accounted for.

June 03 a deputy responded to the 10000 block of LIV 237 for property damage.  Unknown person(s) had rutted the yard area.  Later learned the person responsible had located the victim and paid for the damages.  No additional criminal action is now pending.

June 04 LCSO handled a check the well-being of a toddler reportedly found walking in a diaper unattended and outside of a home.  The child was found to be safe and the parent/care taker had corrected the problem with the door.  The parent/caretaker had been getting a bottle for the child when the toddler exited the front door.

LCSO continues with an investigation of a registered child sex offender who had moved here to a location in violation of proximity law.  That suspect has allegedly not complied with mandates to report new address and we are seeking that person for compliance at this time.  Report being submitted to prosecuting attorney for consideration.

June 11 this week LCSO has investigated complaint of livestock and property issue.

June 13 evening LCSO assisted with a serious traffic crash on U.S. 65 south of Chillicothe.  MSHP completing investigation.

LCSO has completed sexual abuse investigation and sharing information with all parties involved.

June 15 at 1:15 a.m. LCSO responded to a church camp in area of Highway 190 and Thompson River on report of a missing young juvenile at the camp.  LCSO and Zaki responded and officers from the Chillicothe Police and Missouri State Highway Patrol responded.  Area was searched and the young child was found sleeping in another bunk with a cousin.  Everything is okay.

 

Most Wanted Updates:

Arrested June 05 authorities in Lafayette County arrested Curtis L. Bassett, 54, on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged class E felony Leaving Scene of Accident. 

Added June 09, Kevin Lee Case, 50, Chillicothe, wanted on Livingston County arrest warrant 20LV-Cr00682 for alleged Failure to Obey a Judge's Order on original 2 counts class D felony Domestic Assault-2nd degree, no bond permitted by the Court.

Added June 09, William Rex Long, 25, Trenton, wanted on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Probation Violation on class D felony Unlawful Possession of Firearm.  Bond set at $5,000 cash on case #20LV-CR00189-01.

Added June 09, Melissa L. Davis, 25, Trenton, wanted on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Probation Violation on original class D felony of Forgery.  Bond set at $20,000 on case #19LV-CR00589-01.

 

Other Arrests:

June 04 at 10:35 a.m. LCSO took Kathy Jo Young, 43, Chillicothe into custody at the Livingston County Courthouse on an amended commitment with no stay of execution on serving a 10 day jail sentence.  Ms. Young was transported to the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.

June 07 at 10:11 a.m. LCSO arrested William Graham Wilson, 81, Chillicothe on a Chillicothe Municipal arrest warrant for alleged nuisance ordinance violation.  Mr. Wilson posted the $200 bond and was given a new court date.

June 14 at 10:15 a.m. LCSO arrested Randy Wayne Adair, 60, Wheeling on Daviess County arrest warrant for alleged Failure to Appear in Court on original charges of class B misdemeanor DWI, class A misdemeanor C&I driving, and class D misdemeanor Operating motor vehicle owned by another knowing there is not auto insurance.  Mr. Adair was transferred to DDRJ in lieu of $407.50 bond.

 

Citations:

June 04 at 8:25 p.m. a Grain Valley driver was cited for 84 in a 65 on U.S. 36 at Utica Junction.

June 05 at 6:20 a.m. a Trenton driver was cited for 74 in a 60 on U.S. 65 at LIV 214.

June 07 at 4:50 p.m. a Wheeling driver was cited for 81 in a 65 on U.S. 36 at LIV 261.

June 07 at 6:20 p.m. a Chillicothe driver was cited for Failure to Register Motor Vehicle, expired April 2020 license plates.

June 09 at 10:20 a.m. an Ohio driver was cited for 88 in a 65 on U.S. 36 east of Chillicothe.

June 10 at 4:21 p.m. a Hale driver was cited for 74 in a 60 on U.S. 65 near Shoal Creek.

June 12 at 9:00 a.m. an Omaha driver was cited for 86 in a 65 on U.S. 36 near Utica.

June 12 at 2:07 p.m. LCSO conducted a death investigation at a residence in rural Livingston County.  Preliminary investigation shows the elderly person passed from natural causes.  Our thoughts and prayers remain with the family and loved ones.

 

Additional Information:

June 07 LCSO extradited detainee from the Lafayette County Sheriff and transported Curtis Bassett to the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.

June 10 LCSO handled a heated property line dispute.  One land owner had a certified survey completed and showed his property line was further south.  That person and the neighboring tenant were in discussion about this when a neighbor decided to jump in and the matter became extremely heated.  The neighbor was trespassed from the property and the other two adults became civil about their discussion.

June 12 night deputy was on patrol in Durango patrol vehicle attempted to evade a deer that quickly came onto the roadway.  The patrol vehicle struck the deer and deputy reported front push bumper system helped minimize damage to our vehicle.  Patrol vehicle remains operational.  MSHP completed report on incident.

June 15 LCSO has 37 people in custody.
