Shooting Investigation

02/03/2022

On Tuesday, February 01, 2022 about 5:11 p.m. Livingston County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) was dispatched to a report of a shooting in the 500 block of E. Polk Street (outside the city limits on E. Polk/Route V).

Preliminary information suggests one male was allegedly intoxicated and some type of argument took place between he and another adult male.  The intoxicated man was reportedly angry and charged at the other man who then discharged a handgun toward the ground but stuck the intoxicated male in the leg.  The intoxicated male who was shot was treated and released.

On February 02 Missouri Probation and Parole Officer(s) requested assistance from the LCSO while they conducted their own investigation at the scene and subsequently took the individual who had been shot in the leg into custody for alleged parole violation(s) as that man is on parole for felony DWI.

Chillicothe Police and Missouri Probation and Parole have assisted the LCSO on this case.  LCSO is continuing the investigation and will submit a final report to Prosecuting Attorney Adam Warren for consideration.
