Incident Reports:

May 17 Deputy Sheriff/School Resource Officer Mike Lewis filed a report with this office on a reported fight on a school bus.  Two juveniles were reportedly arguing and other kids were encouraging a fight.  Information has been shared with parents, school officials and the juvenile office.

May 17 Deputy Sheriff/School Resource Officer Mike Lewis filed a report with this office on an alleged assault which took place on school property.  Evidence shows a video collected at least part of the incident.  Two juvenile students were identified, parents and school officials notified and juvenile office is involved.

May 23 LCSO began investigation into theft of diesel fuel and attempted break-in south of the Grand River along 65 highway.  Investigation shows person discovered work vehicle had diesel fuel stolen from it and entry to a locked container of equipment was attempted.  Investigation continues.

LCSO has been working with several other law enforcement agencies on various criminal and fugitive investigations and sharing other information.

 

Most Wanted Updates:

Arrested 5-20-2022 by authorities in Caldwell County:

Chamen Richard Bell, 36, on Livingston County warrant for Alleged Violation of Bond Conditions on original class B felony Burglary-1st degree and class E felony Harassment-1st degree.  Bond set at $20,000 on case #21LV-CR00220-01.  LCSO Jail Management records show Mr. Bell was initially arrested and incarcerated on this charge May 03-10, 2021 and released on bond.  Then arrested for alleged Violation of Bond Conditions on November 09, 2021 and released on bond January 28, 2022.  

Arrested 5-21-2022 by Jackson County authorities:

Brent Anthony David Morris, 28, on Livingston County warrant for alleged class E felony Domestic Assault-3rd degree on Livingston County arrest warrant #22LV-CR00131 with bond set at $10,000 cash.

Drayton Lee Williams, 26, arrested on Livingston County warrant for alleged Violation of Bond Conditions on original class D felony Tampering with Motor Vehicle-1st degree.  Bond set at $20,000 on case #21LV-CR00648-01.  LCSO Jail Management records show Mr. Williams was in our custody December 21, 2021 until February 25, 2022 when he was released on bond.  The warrant does not list the alleged bond violation(s).

Arrested 5-24-2022 by authorities in St. Louis:

Kalup Woodson, 31, St. Louis, was arrested early this morning on Livingston County arrest warrant for Alleged Violation of Bond Conditions on original class D felony Assault 3rd degree-Special Victim.  Bond set at $20,000 on case #20LV-CR00366-01.  Warrant does not articulate alleged Violation of Bond Conditions.  LCSO Jail Management records shows Ms. Woodson was arrested on this July 15, 2020 and released on bond the same day.  Was arrested again for alleged Failure to Obey Judges Order on August 24, 2021 and released on bond again September 16.  Ms. Woodson has been a fugitive since October 2021.  Ms. Woodson was released on bond 5-24-2022.

Arrested 5-24-2022 by LCSO:

Sasha M. Campos, 42, arrested in Bedford on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Probation Violation on original class E felony Failure to Appear in Court-Felony Violation.  Warrant shows alleged probation violation being Condition #6, DRUGS, for allegedly using amphetamines and methamphetamine.  Bond set at $20,000 on case #21LV-CR00601-01.  Ms. Campos was taken to DDRJ in lieu of bond.

Added to Most Wanted 5-25-2022:

Update:  Mr. Steiner arrested 5-25-22.  Larry Bryan Luke Steiner, 26, Cameron, wanted on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Probation Violation on original class D felony Stealing-Motor Vehicle/Watercraft/Aircraft.  Alleged probation violation(s) listed on arrest warrant 21LV-CR00627-01 are for condition #6, DRUGS, for allegedly using methamphetamine and marijuana.  Bond set at $20,000.  LCSO Jail Management records show Mr. Steiner was arrested/incarcerated on this case December 12, 2021 and released on ROR bond January 19, 2022.

Canda Beth Smith, 37, Trenton, wanted on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Failure to Appear in Court on class E felony Non-Support, Total Arrears in Excess of 12 Monthly Payments Due Under Order of Support.  Bond set at $5,000 on case #21LV-CR00021.

Kimberly S. Brandes, 53, Chillicothe, wanted on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged class D felony Tampering with Motor Vehicle-1st degree.  Bond set at $10,000 cash on case #22LV-CR00295.

Stephanie M. Masterssmith, 30, Carrollton, wanted on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Probation Violation on original class D felony Stealing-$750 or MORE.  Bond set at $20,000 on case #19LV-CR00625-01.  Arrest warrant lists alleged probation violation(s) as Condition #1, allegedly failing to report an arrest on outstanding municipal warrant.  Condition #6, DRUGS, for allegedly using marijuana condition #11 for allegedly having contact with former co-defendant.  LCSO Jail Management Records show Ms. Masterssmith was initially arrested and incarcerated on this case October 30 and released on ROR bond November 06, 2019.

De Von'ta William Bigby, 30, Liberty, wanted on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged class E felony Harassment-1st degree.  Bond set at $5,000 on case #22LV-CR00292.

Christopher Lee Mason, 43, Chillicothe, wanted on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Failure to Obey a Judge's Order on original class D felony Possession of Controlled Substance.  Bond denied by the Court on case #22LV-CR00143.  Warrant shows Mr. Mason allegedly failed to obey the Judge's order by violating condition #4 of his furlough by absconding from the treatment facility.  LCSO Jail Management records shows Mr. Mason was initially arrested and incarcerated on this case March 20 and released March 21, 2022 on ROR bond.  Then again arrested on April 20 and released on court ordered furlough to treatment on April 28, 2022.  We are now again seeking Mr. Mason on this case.

Arrested 5-25-2022:

Daquan O. Pierce, 27, Chicago, arrested by LCSO on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Probation Violation on original class D felony Illegal Use of a Card Scanner and class B misdemeanor Excessive Speed 26 or more over speed limit.  Bond denied on case #19DV-CR00144-02.  Warrant shows alleged probation violation includes #1 Laws violation, failed to report all arrests to Probation and Parole Office, Condition #7 Weapons, by committing the offenses of Possession of a Firearm with Defaced Serial Number and Resisting Arrest.  LCSO transported Mr. Pierce to DDRJ in lieu of bond.

Added May 26, 2022:

Eunice L. Caselman, 47, Hale, wanted on Livingston County arrest warrants for alleged Failure to Appear in Court on original class D felony Possession of Controlled Substance.  Bond set at $10,000 on case #22LV-CR00237.  LCSO Jail Management records shows Ms. Caselman was arrested/incarcerated initially on this case May 01 and released on ROR bond May 02, 2022.  A second warrant was issued May 25, 2022 for alleged class A misdemeanor offense of DWI with person less than 17 years of age in the vehicle.  Bond set at $1,000 cash on case #22LV-CR00250.

 

Other Arrests:

May 21 about 6:15 a.m. LCSO was summoned to Highway 190 and Highway 190 on a vehicle partially in the road with the driver slumped over the steering wheel.  Investigation resulted in the arrest of Seth Wayne Riddle, 24, Chillicothe for alleged DWI-2nd offense.  Mr. Riddle was processed and released on summons.  MSHP and Chillicothe Department of Emergency Services assisted with this call.

May 23 LCSO arrested Quentin Blake Bassett, 27, Ludlow when he surrendered on Chillicothe Municipal arrest warrant for alleged Failure to Appear in Court on original ordinance violation of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a Valid License.  Mr. Bassett posted bond and was released with a new court date.

 

Citations:

May 18 at 5:25 p.m. a Laredo driver was cited for Operating Motor Vehicle on Highway Without a Valid Driver's License.

May 19 at 8:12 a.m. a Belton driver was cited for 83 in a 65 on U.S. 36 near Medicine Creek.

May 24 a California driver was cited for 82 in a 65 on U.S. 36 near Utica.

 

Additional Information:

May 23 LCSO extradited Drayton Lee Williams from the Jackson County Sheriff and transferred him to DDRJ in lieu of bond.

May 25 LCSO extradited Mercedeze Norris, 20, from the State of Kansas to DDRJ on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Failure to Obey a Judge's Order on original Delivery of Controlled Substance and Stealing.  Ms. Norris was returned to DDRJ in lieu of bond.

Recent LCSO poll module was "Some in government want to eliminate most or all pre-trial detainees from being in county jails.  Meaning only extremely violent people may be held in custody prior to their trial.  What are your thoughts?"  Of those who took part the results show 47.5% prefer the Judges decide on each case, 31.3% answered they do not agree with this view, 19.2% believe only very violent people should be held, while the remaining 2% answered no one should be incarcerated.  Thank you to those who shared their opinion!
