Incident Reports:

June 23 LCSO began investigation into theft of a Smith & Wesson handgun from a vehicle sometime between June 01 and June 22, 2022.  Investigation continues.

June 24 LCSO requested an abandoned vehicle towed from under the Highway 190 River Bridge.  Brotherton's Towing assisted in this task.

June 26 LCSO responded to a rural location in southern Livingston County regarding an elderly female who contacted "Life-Alert" claiming a relative was in the home and destroying things.  The situation was unfounded for criminal acts, mental and medical health concerns were present and assistance given.  CIT form completed again to work on continued living assistance options and services.

June 29 LCSO was summoned to a location in Ludlow where a young child was found unsupervised and playing in the roadway.  The proper home was located and the deputy learned the only person in the home was a juvenile teenager in charge or babysitting but had not realized the young child had left the home.  The deputy noted odor of burning marijuana in the home and contacted parent.  A grandparent soon arrived to take custody and supervise the situation.  Information submitted to the Child Abuse Hotline as required.

June 29 LCSO responded to a location in northern Livingston County where an adult was reportedly suicidal.  The individual was spoke with and a parent who also resides in the home was interviewed.  There was no evidence of imminent threat to themselves or others and a CIT form was completed and forwarded to help with additional services.

June 30 LCSO began investigation on a registered sex offender allegedly not properly registering with LCSO of a different address.  The incident report is being submitted to the prosecuting attorney.  The suspect has also been charged in a nearby county for alleged sex offender registration violation(s) there.

July 01 about 1:45 p.m. LCSO deputy spotted a fugitive in the 400 block of Webster Street in Chillicothe and attempted to serve the arrest warrant.  The fugitive fled the deputy and was successful in eluding law enforcement from the LCSO and Chillicothe Police Department.  An incident report and probable cause statement is being submitted to the prosecuting attorney for consideration of additional felony charge of resisting arrest by flight.

July 04 at 6:24 p.m. LCSO responded to a location in the Wheeling area for a reported suicidal adult.  Information collected showed the person has history of mental health issues and recently attempted minor self-harm.  Person was taken by ambulance for medical and mental help.  CIT form forwarded for additional assistance.

July 05 at 1035 a.m. Sgt. Woelfle was assigned Traffic Enforcement Overtime project and the first vehicle he checked that day was a speeding vehicle on Washington Street at 60 in a 35.  The vehicle stop resulted in the search of the vehicle for drug(s) due to probable cause and the seizure of felony amount of marijuana in multiple packages, THC Wax item(s), and THC Vapes with no evidence indicating any of this was for personal use.  Additionally $4525 in cash was seized.  There was a small child in the vehicle in close proximity to the evidence prior to seizure.  LCSO arrested Noah Joseph Shaw, 24, Chillicothe for alleged 3 class C felony violations being 2 for Delivery of a Controlled Substance and 1 for Endangering the Welfare of a Child Involving Drugs-1st degree.  Mr. Shaw was incarcerated at DDRJ on July 05 and released on ROR bond July 07 on case #22LV-CR00353.

July 05 LCSO assisted the Chillicothe Police with an unruly juvenile.  The teenager was extremely uncooperative with law enforcement, allegedly threatened suicide, and was cussing the officers.  This was a family issue with one parent having been incarcerated and not wanting to spend time with the other parent.  Juvenile Office has been involved and the situation was finally resolved.

July 12 at 2:37 a.m. LCSO responded to a location on LIV 351 for a reported death.  Preliminary investigation shows self-inflicted gunshot was the cause of death to the elderly male.  The body was released to the coroner's office.  Our thoughts and prayers remain with the family and loved ones.
