On Friday, September 30, 2022 the Livingston County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) received information of a possible firearm in a student's vehicle at Southwest School in Livingston County.

LCSO and Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to Southwest School and began an investigation of the allegation.  This resulted in the seizure of potential evidence from a parked vehicle consisting of an "Orbeez" style toy gun, 2 pocket knives, 1 fixed blade knife, stun gun (electronic device) and a minor amount of marijuana. No firearm or ammunition were found.

At this time we do not have any information on direct threat(s) of violence to individuals and/or the school at this time.

The school authorities are aware of the issue and have and/or are taking administrative action.  The Juvenile Office assisted and the complete report is being submitted to their office.  Investigation is continuing.
