August 19 LCSO was involved with the Chillicothe Police, School Resource Officer, Missouri Information Analysis Center and the FBI on an investigation of possible school threat on social media. 

Investigation resulted in the suspect juvenile and parents being interviewed, seizure of suspected evidence, involvement of the juvenile office and notification to school administration.  Preliminary investigation supports no legitimate intent on harming any specific person or people in general.  The juvenile who allegedly posted the photo reported to be "joking" with the friend who received the information on social media.  Juvenile Officer did not take anyone into detention custody status.  All persons have been interviewed and Chillicothe School officials will handle administrative action.  All officers did an excellent job of looking into this potential threat from all angles.  We appreciate the parent(s) cooperation and assistance.  Investigation is continuing.  Juvenile office will handle any court matters from this point.
