Incident Reports:

August 04 at 9:33 a.m. LCSO responded to Wheeling regarding calls of a black male jumping into traffic on Highway 36 and another call of a domestic disturbance taking place between the black male and a female in the area.   Deputies located both adults.  The male was not intending to harm himself and was struggling with the loss of a parent.  All parties interviewed and matter resolved.

August 10 LCSO began an investigation of alleged forcible rape and domestic assault which allegedly took place in the north part of Livingston County.  Investigation has resulted in arrest on August 11.

August 21 afternoon LCSO dealt with a distraught female in Farmersville who reportedly was frequently outside yelling and creating a disturbance.  The person was found to be okay, a CIT form was completed for submission to mental health, and no criminal violation took place.

August 25 LCSO began investigation in Ludlow of reported property damage, attempted burglary and assault with a deadly weapon.  Reportedly male suspect drove into a yard and struck a mailbox destroying it.  Witnesses described seeing suspect attempting to force entry into a home and the suspect then told the witnesses he had something for them and removed a large hammer from his vehicle and swung at both witnesses attempting to hit them in the head with the tool prior to leaving the area.  Report complete and being submitted to prosecuting attorney for consideration.

August 25 at 3:30 p.m. LCSO began investigation of person in a Ford Edge dump two young puppies on a gravel road near the animal shelter.  Fortunately the shelter was able to locate the puppies and care for them.

August 26 LCSO began investigation of 3 small puppies being dumped near LIV 233 and LIV 256.  The shelter was able to take the puppies and care for them.

August 26 LCSO investigated report of Violation of Protection Order for Adult.  Report completed and being submitted to the prosecuting attorney for consideration.

August 26 LCSO responded with ambulance to a rural location where a very young child was found in bed unresponsive.  Family, Ambulance Staff and HMC staff worked diligently with CPR and life-saving attempts for a significant amount of time but were unsuccessful.  Our thoughts and prayers remain with the family and loved ones.

 

Most Wanted Updates:

August 21 LCSO extradited Joseph A. Kincaid, 38, from Clark County Sheriff on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Probation Violation on Livingston County arrest warrant 22LV-CR00061-01 on class D felony Possession of Controlled Substance.  Mr. Kincaid was transported to the Caldwell County Detention Center.

 

Other Arrests:

August 07 at 10:05 a.m. LCSO arrested Christian Jacob Diamante, 31, Virginia, for driving 91 in a 65 on U.S. 36 at LIV 233.  Mr. Diamante was processed at the LEC and released on summons after posting bond.

August 11 at 2:42 p.m. LCSO arrested Juan Garcia Flores, 37, Chula in the 200 block of Mansur in Chula on Livingston County arrest warrant #23LV-CR00356 for alleged unclassified felony Rape or Attempted Rape-1st degree and class B felony Domestic Assault-1st degree.  Mr. Flores was processed at the LEC and transferred to Caldwell County Detention Center and has since been released on bond.

August 16 at 8:55 a.m. LCSO arrested Keith Charles Dennis, 40, Meadville when Mr. Dennis surrendered on Livingston County arrest warrant case #220183584 for alleged Failure to Appear on Fail to Register Motor Vehicle citation.  Mr. Dennis posted the $122 bond and was released with new court date.

August 18 at 6:56 p.m. LCSO served Livingston County arrest warrant #23LV-CR00374 for alleged class A misdemeanor, Domestic Assault-4th degree on Zachery Dakota Jones, 32, Chillicothe.  Mr. Jones was initially unable to post the $1,000 bond and was held at Caldwell County Detention Center pending court hearing.

August 22 at 2:00 p.m. LCSO arrested Blaze Morgan Hussey, 28, Chillicothe, at the request of the Court at the Livingston County Courthouse.  Mr. Hussey was transferred to Caldwell County Detention Center on a commitment.

August 23 at 9:00 a.m. LCSO stopped a speeding vehicle on Highway 190 and subsequently arrested Christopher Shane Owen, 43, Jamesport on a Grundy County arrest warrant for alleged Failure to Appear in Court on a No Auto Insurance charge.  Mr. Owen posted the required bond and was released with a new court date.

 

Citations:

August 08 at 5:10 p.m. an Illinois driver was cited for 77 in a 65 on U.S. 36 at Highway 65.

August 08 at 6:00 p.m. a Texas driver was cited for 81 in a 65 on U.S. 36 at LIV 259.

August 15 at 2:30 p.m. a Tennessee driver was cited for 86 in a 65 on U.S. 36 near Highway 65.

August 15 at 3:00 p.m. a Chillicothe juvenile was stopped for 92 in a 65 on U.S. 36 and reported heading to the mother's place of employment.  Deputy followed the juvenile there and spoke with the mother.  The juvenile driver was given a citation for this and juvenile officer directed deputy to seize the driver's license.

August 15 at 5:40 p.m. a Missouri driver was cited for 79 in a 55 on Highway 190 at Route A.

August 16 at 5:33 p.m. a Missouri driver was cited for 74 in a 55 on Highway 190 and Thompson River.

August 17 at 6:10 p.m. a Missouri driver was cited for no auto insurance-2nd offense on a stop on U.S. 65 at Locust Street.

August 18 at 3:10 p.m. a driver was cited for driving on the left side of the highway when view obstructed on U.S. 65 at Roach Lake. (Dangerous offense/area.)

August 20 at 1:45 p.m. an Illinois driver was cited for 76 in a 65 on U.S. 36 near Utica.

August 20 at 10:40 a.m. an Illinois driver was cited for 90 in a 65 on U.S. 36 at Medicine Creek.

August 25 at 6:50 p.m. a Missouri driver was cited for 84 in a 65 on U.S. 36 and LIV 255.

August 25 at 7:15 p.m. a Missouri driver was cited for 76 in a 65 on U.S. 36 near Utica.

 

Additional Information:

August 16 LCSO transported Christopher Mason, Gerald Ratcliffe, Forrest Ivy and Robert Singer to the Missouri Department of Corrections in St. Joseph.  LCSO has requested reimbursement of expense from the State of Missouri on this in the amount of $291.32.

August 17 LCSO transported Sherry Ritchie and Kimberly Draper to the Missouri Department of Corrections in Vandalia.  LCSO has requested reimbursement of expenses from the State of Missouri on this in the amount of $378.04.  We also picked up Lacy Wells from DOC on a court ordered writ for appearance in Livingston County Court on August 22. We will return Ms. Wells following court.

During the week of August 13 Sheriff Steve Cox attended the Missouri Sheriffs' Association Summer Training Conference.  Excellent training was provided to Missouri Sheriffs and law enforcement officers.

August 23 LCSO transported Jeffrey Piearcy to the Missouri Department of Corrections in St. Joseph on a parole warrant.  LCSO has requested reimbursement of expenses from the State of Missouri in the amount of $148.66.

LCSO has worked on many calls for service, continuing criminal and fugitive investigations, prisoner transports, court bailiff and courthouse security duties, court paper service, and training. 

LCSO has interviewed two people for deputy sheriff's positions.  One applicant graduates the academy in December and one applicant is POST licensed and advanced to the next round in the selection process. 

LCSO currently has 42 people in custody, 9 of which are female detainees.

Reminder if you have a Concealed Carry Permit please check your expiration date and get with us ASAP.  If your CCW permit is expired over 6 months you must submit new fingerprints and have your background checked again.
