Fugitive Investigation Turns into Major Drug Arrest and Firearm Charge

12/15/2023

Livingston County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Dustin Woelfle had been investigating information on a possible fugitive hiding in Livingston County.  Various information suggested this person is involved in distributing a significant amount of drugs in our area, should be considered very dangerous and armed with one or more firearms and claiming he would never be taken back to prison.

Sgt. Dustin Woelfle obtained enough information/evidence and was granted a search warrant warrant for alleged fugitive Christopher Alexander Lee, 45, wanted since April 2023 in Macon County for Probation Violation on felony Stealing and Distribution/Delivery of Controlled Substance.  The search warrant was authorized for a residence in the 1400 block of Clay Street (near Verrelle Peniston School) in Chillicothe.

LCSO and Chillicothe Police executed the search warrant and successfully arrested Mr. Lee on the Macon County arrest warrant.  During the arrest process evidence was observed and Sgt. Dustin Woelfle was granted a second search warrant for the home for drug(s).  CPD secured the residence and guarded the location until the second search warrant was delivered and continued assisting the LCSO.

The search of the home yielded a large amount of methamphetamine, multiple varieties of prescription medication, significant amount of drug distribution equipment, Glock .40 caliber handgun, and other evidence.

Mr. Lee has since been charged in Livingston County Associate Court with alleged Delivery of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.  Mr. Lee is being held on our charges in the Caldwell County Detention Center in lieu of bond.  Investigation continues.

Sheriff Cox would like to commend Sgt. Dustin Woelfle for outstanding work on this case.  We greatly appreciate all the hard work Sgt. Woelfle does for this county.  This is just one example of his commitment to the community.
