Reports, Arrests and Citations
Incident Reports:
September 11th, deputies responded to the 1000 block of U.S. Highway 65 in reference to individuals reportedly coming down and/or off of fentanyl. Chillicothe Department of Emergency Services would transport the individuals to Hedrick Medical Center for treatment. A juvenile was taken into protective custody and formal criminal charges are pending.
September 12th, deputy took a report of identity theft from a county resident. Information and leads were followed up to no avail. Investigation no longer pending until further leads or information becomes available.
September 14th, LCSO was attempting to serve an eviction notice in the 17000 block of Washington Street in Avalon. Contact was made with a male in the driveway of the residence and it was later determined the individual provided a fake name in an attempt to elude service of the notice and arrest on a Chariton County, Missouri warrant. Investigation led to the arrest of Steven Sayers on a Chariton County warrant. Sayers was later charged with hindering prosecution and remains in custody at Caldwell County Detention Center.
September 17th, deputy responded to the 16000 block of LIV 244 in reference to loose dogs creating a potential traffic hazard. The owner was counseled on keeping the animals under control.
Arrests:
September 11th, Tyler King, 33, Kansas City, was arrested for driving while revoked/suspended first offense on U.S. Highway 65 near 3rd Street in Chillicothe. King was processed and released on a summons to appear in court.
September 12th, Ashley Wyant, 18, Galt, was arrested after spitting on a deputy who responded to assist a M.S.H.P. Trooper on a traffic stop. Wyant was processed on charges of assault 4th degree along with resisting arrest and minor in possession of liquor. Wyant was transported to Caldwell County Detention Center.
September 13th, Adam Hopper, 37, Chillicothe, turned himself in on a Livingston County arrest warrant on case #24LV-CR00462 at the L.C.S.O. Hopper was given an O.R. bond and was released with a court date.
September 17th, Lloyd Johnson, 58, Chillicothe turned himself in on a Livingston County arrest warrant for violation of a child protection order and attempt to tamper with a victim on case #24LV-CR00464 at the L.C.S.O. Johnson posted $2500 cash bond and was released with a court date.
September 19th, Jeffrey Smith, 53, Chillicothe, was arrested in the 1100 block of Grandview Avenue in Chillicothe on an Iowa warrant for failing to appear on a charge of contempt - resist order or process of district court. Smith signed a waiver of extradition and was transported to Iowa.
Citations:
September 18th, Caitlyn George, Marshall, was issued a citation for failing to register a motor vehicle annually with the MO Department of Revenue at Polk St. and Washington St. in Chillicothe.
